Two days ago I attended Meredith Gran's Portland book signing in her studio across town. Her new book, There Are No Stars in Brooklyn, came out beautifully and I highly recommend it. The studio was an inspiring sight for me as well. It was basically a garage full of awesome. Will I one day be able to make enough money off of comicking to be able to justify that sort of expense? It's another goal to aim for.
Also in attendance were David Malki and Kris Straub, two other cartoonists I admire. They are a lot taller wandering around a book signing than seated over a convention table. The two did a live performance of their audio show, Tweet Me Harder, and acted just as I imagined they would. David made lots of animated gestures and Kris was reserved and chill. They made my husband eat expired Japanese pickles as well as entertain us for an hour so A+ to them!
Oh, and Kris gets an extra gold star for remembering me from a convention I attended in 2009. He even remembered what we talked about! Meanwhile I forget the faces of people I met yesterday...

Love the montage! That looks way cool and it's such a genius way to show time passing.
OMG KRIS STRAUB!!! Daron is soooo jealous. Me and Randy are in love with his and Scott Kurtz's Blamimations.
And on a your comic related note:
Lovin' it! Reading yours is slowly motivating me to work on my drawing skills so I can perhaps start one of my own. When I'm less lazy. =P
Thanks, Nikki! This is my third montage in the comic and I think each time I'm learning how to make them better. And Daron, I love watching Blamimations too! When you start your comic, be sure to send me a link. :D
