Silas and Lae walk away from the shack back into the jungle. Lae carries a bag over her shoulder and rolled up cloaks tied to her usual back pack. The jungle is dark and misty.
Silas: SO... WE'RE GOING WITH THE PRINCE, RIGHT?
The pilgrim guide sighs.
Lae: AS FAR AS NAWENJA-
She begins climbing a tree.
Lae: -SINCE IT'S IMPORTANT TO BIJAN.
The ghost is so happy, small rainbows and sunshines appear around him.
Silas thinks: FINALLY! I'LL SEE MORE OF THIS WORLD!
Lae reaches a large branch and stops climbing to walk along it.
Lae thinks: AT LEAST I'LL BE DONE WITH TAMAL WHEN WE REACH THE EDGE OF THE JUNGLE. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN HE'D BECOME A YAHAKRE.

Today I'd like to introduce two talented cartoonists I met at the Stumptown Comic Fest:

Sarah Burrini traveled all the way from Germany to share Life Ain't No Pony Farm with the Portland crowd. Her colorful cartooning features the coolest looking elephant roommate ever.

Angela Melick's comic, Wasted Talent, has a large archive bursting with quirky fun. Her visual gags and comical expressions are wonderfully done. This comic inspires me to take up COPIC markers again...

It was a pleasure meeting these ladies and then reading their comics. I hope you enjoy them too!

Loving the backgrounds on this page! The jungle looks so mysterious and cool, like something out of a game or movie.

Are we going to see Tamal and the others now? I'm really excited to see how he's doing after his transformation!

I'm glad the haze I put in the jungle worked out. I wasn't sure about it at first but I like how it separates the foreground from the background.

And thanks, Darrell! I'd love to meet you in Seattle sometime. :D

Indeed! It would be awesome if all comic symbolia appeared in real life. I'm particularly keen on emanata. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lexicon_of_Comicana>
