I missed 24 hour comics day last Saturday but I still wanted to observe it somehow. So on Sunday I challenged myself to make as many page layouts for my comic as possible. My previous record was three layouts in one day. Laying out pages sounds simple but I usually spend a lot of time agonizing over getting the frame sizes, camera angles, and character positions just right. (On top of that, I never trust my first attempt and make myself wait a full day before looking at it again so I can catch poor decisions.) The most important thing for me is to make all the action easy to understand.
The result is six layouts completed! Yay! I'm pretty proud and hope I can get faster the more I do it. I noticed something strange about my creativity though. For three out of six layouts, I would partially fall asleep in the middle. My head would get heavy and I'd lean on my desk for just... a little... while... Surprisingly this didn't hinder my speed, as when I woke up I would be able to doodle out the rest of the page as fast as you please. My subconscious must continue working even when I nap. I should read the script before sleeping at night so when I wake I'll have all the answers!

Yay for new characters with fun eye colors! I also like the stars in the night sky. : )
Thanks, sis. I did my best to give all the characters unique eyes so close ups aren't confusing.
